I know for a fact that its a strategic move as to when an album is dropped and who its going up against. The whole 50cent/Kanye thing was interesting and now you've got Ambassador and Lecrae. I used to work for a prominent local chain of record stores in my home town so I speak from experience. What the major record labels would do is punish the record store, that pre-sold the album(s) early, by not sending them or allowing them to buy and stock any future new album releases for months. THIS IS PUNISHMENT TO RECORD STORES BECAUSE THAT'S HOW THEY MAKE THEIR MONEY. RECORD STORES BUY ALBUMS FROM THE DISTRIBUTORS AT WHOLESALE AND RESELL THEM AT RETAIL...THAT'S HOW THEY MAKE A PROFIT. The major labels and distributors would want to punish a record store or chain of stores for UNAUTHORIZED pre sells of albums before release date because to them it's all about the BILLBOARD stats, PLAQUES, and CERTIFICATIONS which are heavily influenced by sells or numbers or units sold. If an album is sold before release date the whole industry numbers calculation for that particular artist and album is thrown off and not accurate. It's very time consuming for them to get it straight, if or once this happens. And since they're so competitive, if the numbers are thrown off and miscalculated then an artist or album that would have hit the BILLBOARD #1 spot...may now fall short of it do to UNauthorized presales. Yet...on the Christian side of things even though CMR is Nationally distributed by a major distributor (SONY/BMI), I don't think that they view it the same way. I think cats over at CMR, REACH, Provident, SONY, BMI, and Infinity are just really pleased that the public is buying HHH and R&P with great anticipation and in record numbers period. Forget the stats. That's why I said in my title that this situation is RAW in Essence due to fact that the cat in the video HIGHLY anticipated The Chop Chop because (I would assume that) He is maddly amped about The Ambassador's Ministry, Life, and Career! I have to wait to get The Chop Chop so I didn't listen to the video all the way through because I didn't want to spoil it for myself simply because I too am amped about The Chop Chop. Hey...Nelly said that he was part of the reason why Jordan's NOW come out on Saturday because all over America children where skipping school during the week, risking their education just to cop them fresh J's. So, it's RAW that HHH and R&P has set a bar of quality and respect to where cats literally can't wait to get their hands on these CD's. Prayerfully for the Christian Market nothing illegal or unSeemly will ever arise from this HIGH LEVEL of Anticipation from fans and/or supporters of the Genre. In view of it all, I strongly believe that The Chop Chop will be Ambassador's best effort to date. So, if the Artist, Labels, and Distributors of the HHH and R&P community don't mind then I think this is harmless; therefore being very beneficial for the Genre and all of those involved.
