I like the message to the song and
I think these Cats are Hip Hop
greats.

Unfortunately this video may have been
made to cross over but... I think its
the worst video they've made.

This is my opinion, Grits is my
favourite Hip hop group.

It still amazes me that Cats don't
understand poetry these days... poeetry
is what makes these dudes shine.

The make a bunch of hip hop artisits
look like amatuers with their
swagga and flow. The cats are real
word smiths.

Question? Why isn't IZ signed up to
revolution art? May be he had a different
passion.... The dudes rep Jesus all
the way.

Watch any of their live concerts and
you will appreciate their style.
Whilst most cats use mime to songs
these dudes and their dejay (Immanuel)
make one appreciate the 5 elements
of hip hop. - zzzz

let's admit that this is a tight track. the beat is dope and the hook is tight as all git out. i'm confused as to what direction they going too tho. i understand the stance they holding and what they sayin but to the world this is just a jam track that you can bump too. got some sirens, major bass and interesting flow. as far as Christians rapping it's pretty stinkin good. and the words are laid down effectively but again if i was a lost dude bouncin to this i wouldn't be hearin the words. for all the lost know this living water might just be a strong alcohol that puts yo mind in order afterwards. see what i'm sayin?
we need to be reppin Christ no matter on the streets, in our house, in the videos. - Southernblood

Look Teccmo and Kenny basically espoused my views so I won't waste time with that.

This was a good production and it's at a high caliber level in all but one area...the gospel. Look, I understand the metaphors "livin water", "open bar" but dramaqueen's response is evident enuff that the REAL truth they were communicating gets lost by the lackluster way they chose to convey it.

I know it's harsh, but I'm in college rite now, and one of the official flags of my generation is: the red cup. It stands for "partying", "not being lame", "having a good time" and hurting the Lord's heart because u care more about the ppl around yu than His heart. I saw alot of red cups in the video and the message could easily get lost.

Look, ev'ryone whose got a problem w/ this knows what we saw "cars, clubbin, being da star," and then IZ and ev'rything he was talkin bout (I honestly didn't know if was about Christ, I jus had to assume that cause...he's in the video. I couldn't tell of anything he said that denoted the desire fo a deeper relationship w/ Him). But Christians in this day need to be like the Canaanite Woman from Matt. 15:21 - 28: relentless.

If we pursued God relentlessly and wanted to display His glory w/ the same type of tenacity, ppl would still have problems, even some Christians, but no one could say that the message is watered-down, no one (i.e. some of the ppl here) could say that the TRUE message is hard to understand. If we have the mind of Christ (1 Corin. 2:16) and can barely recognize the truth in this video, how do we expect a person in the world to.

Look, I understand some ppl are of the "just cause Christ ain't every word don't make it not Christian" ideal and I understand that. Some groups convey Biblcal truth in a relevant way well...but this? I'm sorry if I wanna see grills, rims, dudes handin out money, and red cups...I can just bump Jeezy and lil' wayne. Look wut's done is done, vid's made already on youtube, what we can all gather is the NEED to be SO RELENTLESS AND PASSIONATE FOR THE LORD JESUS CHRIST that there could be no doubt of whom we're living for.

And honestly, Tedashii's 26's is a good response to those who may not find a problem w/ the way the vid was focusing on rims and other stuff, during IZ's flow.

This song is off the hook, it's hot, it has a dope beat, all that, But......

We have to remember what Jesus says, if someone that never heard the Gospel message looked up this video they'd have no idea what it was about, they'd assume it was alcohol,(read the posts) and as an alcoholic myself, I almost assumed the same thing, I had to make sure it was the same group.
The Bible says don't even give off the appearance of evil, when a young thug lookin kinda dude hands out 100$ bills to folks on the street, in the ghetto, where do you think most people think that money is coming from. Anyone could see this, not just us who have a serious appreciation for hip-hop, what would they think?

But examine everything carefully; hold fast to that which is good; abstain from every form of evil. (1 Thessalonians 5:21-22)

For we take thought beforehand and aim to be honest and absolutely above suspicion, not only in the sight of the Lord but also in the sight of men. (2 Corinthians 8:21) - Teccmo

Its art..its music....its poetry...its a metaphor...used so that people can relate...

If you REALLY listen to the song..you will notice the various metaphors that are used in this song and how the GRITS are comparing the living water of Christ to your favorite drink..As christians we know that there is no comparison, but an unbeliever that drinks knows EXACTLY what GRADE-A 150 proof is..By using this comparison they are simply showing in layman terms how strong the living water is that is CHRIST using imagery and language that many people out there can understand. Think about...if you werent saved wouldnt you want someone to explain the message of Christ to you in a way you can understand...????????????????????????????????? This is not a preach to the choir song...its a song written to UNBELIEVERS...GET IT????????? - sugarbaby

What is meant my "over here we got grade-A 150 proof?" This whole song is fabulous and sends a great message regarding our savior, but I'm confused about this part of the song. If I were to have an unbeliever listen to this song, they would ask me why Grits is talking about alcohol in a Christian song? I don't drink myself and I also don't think that it's sinful to drink alcohol in moderation, but 150 proof is a very strong drink. Bottom line is living water is Jesus. - Redeemd

Omg,Omg!!!! Hear the words, Hear the words, and Hear the words!!!!! First of all, "Open Bar" is not referred to a real bar. "Open Bar" is referred to God being open all the time but it is tonight because it is party song and something you can nod your head to. Secondly, Pigeon John talks about how to chase your dreams no matter what and how God bless his dreams. Coffee talks about the Holy Spirit which is the "Living Water" and how it feels when you filled with it and how it changed his life. For example,"I'm the one supplying the truth, with unlimited amounts of ammo. Bonafide talks how Holy Spirit has been using them for years and they won't because "Its Living Water(Holy Spirit) keeping their minds in order. - D. Jaxx

yo yo wait! Dont hate on Grits. Yea I love tight wit these but I dont think it shoulda been in da video. Like Evident7 said Gentle as a dove wise as a serpent! Its in da bible! They know how to draw you in and then smack you up side the head wit da gospel. Grits is more of a hip-hop group anyways; they talk about the troubles of the world while they keep it Christian. If you want Rap listen to Lecrae, Tedashii, etc. I think they might of slipped up a lil but they know how to be strong it the faith and have a good time! We as CHRISTIANS dont need to be so up tight. Come on People! Grits keep doin ya thang! - Twon Lee

I have to agree with iretwistmusic.com, I found it unusual for Grits to end their video with a cameo from IZ tryin to rap like he's hardcore pretending to be like one of them secular rappers, but in a clean sense. How one portrays himself is a key factor in Gospel rap since most of today's secular rappers are so commercial with their message. I hope Grits doesn't get too egotistical with their success. - Rawk4Life

Hey KBright, since when does ANYONE watch a music video with the sound off? What's the point of that? The message is what it's about. What are they saying? "It's living water baby...." Hmm, sums it up. So all the people talkin' crap, shut up. - Cowboy

MAN! Grits is pimpin dont care what these ppl postin negitive comments say! yes the song has a good message and unlike other christian rappers Grits aint God every other word...not sayin its a bad thing to have God in your rap but bein God God God gets weak and repetitive. Grits songs that dont mention God are good! their good and give you a break and you got a good message w/o the bible bein shoved down you throat. Your image is still a good one only imature ppl would get it twisted. Grits shows you can still live lavish and be in christ...after all God does want us to prosper!! - Tee

like most of the Video.... I don't think the lyrics are as good as previous records, but i love the beat. I met IZ and grits last yr. I think IZ is a good dude, and I think their hearts are in the right place. I'm not here to judge them. If they are doing what God is calling them to do, let them. I know a lot of ppl that will listen to Grits, that won't listen to a lot of Christian rap. Grits is a stepping stone for a lot of ppl. Thats how a friend of mine came to know Christ. Though they may not "push" Christ in every song, God still works through them the same way and has a purpose for them(Ecc 3:1). God bless you guys! - Jared Denman

The song has a good message but for the part where 'iz' comes in.Yes 'iz's flow is tight but for the image being portrait,it isn't one you'll want a young Christian being exposed to.The vid is good until iz cuts in and thinks he's the real 'og'.Thats wrong. Its good to show how you've been blessed, without showing it loudly.Otherwise good vid. - www.iretwistmusic.com

I like Grits for trying something new. I wouldn't call this a praise and worship track, but it's good Christian Entertainment with an evangelistic twist.

I'm a little thrown off with the Hyper Prosperity message at the end. I like the catz style, but, I'm not feeling Christ as the center. Maybe I missed something.
