For those who have anything ill to say about Todd... I ask you not to judge him... I was there when he was SAVED... Todd, Charles, Shaft, Paul, and many others had a very huge impact on my life... He is a man of God... What some of you dont understand is people make mistakes and the enemy comes to kill, steal, and destroy. Spirits are real and they can use you and will use you.... in a split second you life can be changed if you are not covered. Now I dont know what happened but I do know Todd Jones. Yes he was a blood and yes he had many things to deal with an/ or overcome. But Todd is a good person with a good heart. You will never know what they have done for people. You see the bad and latch on to it, but what about the good they did. I was there when pastor charles and pastor carolyn harrell encourage and taught them... I was at the church on Friday nights with them... I was at Magic Mountain witnessing with them... he was on fire and it was real!!!! So whatever he did or didnt do. Please dont judge him... he is a man first and we all fall... some harder than others. Those who are annointed the most have the most to deal with. I've known Chris for a minute and he's a true man of God.

Todd is juz' going thru some things from his past that have caught up to him...

...but, digressing a bit and getting back on the topic...I've had it laid on my heart for a spell now that there is a void in the HHH world of those whom have the ability to, calling to and life experience to - minister to the certain demographic that the Gospel Gangsters, SS Mob, CMC's, etc...targeted...

I'm hesitant to even ask where are today's innovators in HHH?...who is willing to get grimy for no payback from the World?...because, the follow-up could so easily turn into critiques of different artist's styles, backgrounds, ministries, calling, etc...which should not happen...

There is a culture/environment that many only get glimpses of via TV documentaries...a culture that lives by their own set of rules/codes and where death is an accepted and realistic possibility not just on a daily basis, but also on a breath by breath basis.

These are kats that have their own "messiahs" and their own "bibles" and when they hear the word "Jesus" or feel as if they are getting preached at in the beginning of a song/album will just turn it off and play something else...Why would they do any different?...what reason do they have to play the music that has blatant "jesus cheerleading" and/or "preaching" when there are acceptable alternatives in their eyes?

That's a world that feels as if it's seperate from the rest...feels forgotten and so they have their own standards, their own lifestyle, their own "religion."

As a "former" GD and someone who came-up in that very culture, I fully understand what it's like and I've experienced kats turning-off/flipping to the next track (of some of the hottest HHH artists today, BTW) when they hear the word "jesus" or preaching/praising, etc...too early in a song...before the credibility of the artist...the beat...the sound can "hook" them.

It takes a certain style/sound...a special type of person...someone with the right background...to step-down into these grimy, dangerous streets and represent the Lord. This type of ministry isn't for everyone...and thus, the music isn't either...

Many don't understand this culture (and there's nothing wrong with that, because unless you've experienced it, it's hard to truely grasp it)...but, before we make claims and pass judgements about something we don't understand (not saying anyone is)...we should consider using discerment in our comments and seek understanding...as not to be naïve...(Again, making no accusations)...

It's impossible to sound to "gangster," if you are "gangster." It's a lifestyle, a social aspect of your personality that unless the Spirit rids it from you still remains a part of your make-up as a minister of the gospel...otherwise, you'd have no credibility...because on these streets it's all about being real and they spot fakeness in an instant...you truly only get one chance to make a first impression and who you are and what you stand for and your willingness to stand for that carries tremendous weight in these streets.

Ironically, they don't really care about race...they don't care if you are a Christian...as long as you're willing to claim it and be unwavering in that claim, they'll show you much respect...in truth, it's better to not drink, smoke, deal, etc...and stay firm on that slab, then to waver and take a drink/hit here and there (feeling like you have to in order to prove yourself/fit in)...you have much more respect and thus, a larger platform to minister with the former than the latter...

Again, I feel there is a void within the HHH world targeting this demographic...whether that's due to there not being enough support from the church (read: body), not enough saved gangsters willing to follow the calling or what...I don't know...I just feel on my soul this missing focus, as the HHH market continues to grow/gain ground, respect, credibility, etc...

Hip-hop came from these very streets and the Word came from these same streets (but, in a different time)...Christ spent so much time with characters that could be coorelated to today's "gangsters"...He knew how to sit with them, break bread with them and ultimately gain their respect enough to minister to them...

He didn't ask anyone else to do so...until He brought down the Spirit after His resurection...and even then, he instructed them to dust the dirt off the feet if someone/town/city wouldn't listen...

In closing...look at Paul (Saul?)...a gangster of high-regard in his time...then look at what He did (while still keeping and using many of the same personality traits and such that he possesed before his redemption)...why did God choose him?...was it because of his credibility towards those he was called to minister?

Gangsta and Gangster are not necesarily the same thing. Yes the Etymology Gangsta comes from the word Gangster. Gangster means "a member of a gang of criminals"(dictionary.com)
Gangsta is "an aggressive type of rap music focused on gang culture and violence"
They are focused on singing about the gang culture and violence but battling it with the Word of God and through song. Gospel Gangstaz is the best fitting word for the ministry. Don't be so ignorant. You all obviously know no one is perfect but still saddened of what happened. We should definitely pray for tic tock, but I think I should pray for some people and their false judgments and presumptions. If you are getting turned off from their music I guess I can say you must have misunderstandings of why the present themselves the way the do. I can tell that by the way they question the groups name. I hope this will at least educate you a little.
