Even though I addressed you in the beginning of my comment, all of the comment wasn’t aimed at you. If you notice there are four paragraphs and I pretty much touch on my concerns in each paragraph.
Just take what you can. If it doesn’t pertain to you then bypass it. If it does pertain to you, then I pray that you will be blessed by it. Honestly, I’m not a fan (root word for fanatic) of Da Truth. I appreciate his artistry and his willingness to put Christ first, even in his business relationships. And although I must say that I admire his integrity, like you I’m a fan (fanatic) of Jesus Christ who gives him that integrity.
In saying that, I want to point out that there is a difference between correction and gossip. Correction involves making a person aware of a mistake and then talking to that person about ways to avoid or correct that mistake. Gossip is talking to someone else about that person’s mistake for any reason outside of love and concern for that person (i.e. the excitement generated by hearing about other people’s problems). Now unless Da Truth lives in your neighborhood, it is the responsibility of the saints around him to correct, edify, or enlighten him on any misunderstandings or errors on his part. If you cannot personally talk to Da Truth to find out what really happened then it becomes your responsibility to pray for him to have wisdom and discernment to do God’s will (not his, yours, or mine) if ever confronted by such a situation. Sometimes gossip is hard to discern because we have been doing it all our life. We even hear people doing it every Sunday or Saturday at our local churches. In fact, now that I think about it, I am as guilty as anyone in that my aunt and I were gossiping about my cousin before I wrote this blog… lol. Nevertheless, gossip is still a sin. I just prey that you and I are able to discern the difference.
Other than that, my other main concern was in how quickly we jump on the bandwagon of a rumor without actually knowing the truth of what happened. And since we don’t know the truth, (pun intended) it wouldn’t be wise for us to assume that the situation happened the way the rumor meal said it did.
