Request for Lyrics I Call Him G.O.D.
written by Flossy, November 22, 2009
My praise dance team, composed of young men, are ministering to this song next month, but before I allow them to, I need to know the lyrics of the chorus. I've learned the lyrics of the song, but cannot make out the chorus completely.

Can someone out there help me out?

My guys and I would greatly appreciate it!

Thank you!

Also not sure why everyone has an issue with the "materialism" as they say. Its not materialism...its wealth. Wealth is used to help fund the Kingdom and spread the Gospel.

Show me one servant of GOD in the Bible that was broke ????
Abraham -Wealthy
Issac - wealthy
Jacob - wealthy
JOB - wealthy
David - wealthy
Solomon - Wealthy
Jesus - Kawiz-billionaire (oh you didnt know...the Bible says the streets of Heaven are paved with Gold..when you own a city with Gold streets you are beyond millionaire status)

These servants sought GOD and GOD added blessing to them. It's not to be your main attention of course but I take umbrage when Christians try to make it a "sin" to acquire wealth.
Nothing wrong with it.

People too often forget that music was ORIGINALLY created as a tool of worship. Satan corrupted and perverted music. As of late there has been an explosion of Gospel Rappers poppin on the scene. Each one Glorifying GOD in the ways they know possible. I'm 33yrs old. Been a Christian for most of my life. I couldn't feel Christian rap yrs ago. I'm real and it was lame. I'm sorry but it was. These guys have taken their talent and decided to use it in the Kingdom. Yolanda Adams once said as an atrisit the hardest thing she had to do was decided once the door was open to either go secular or staying Kingdom. The word opens the doors when you go secular. We should be opening the doors when one of artist go Kingdom. This mans' flow and style go of VERY easily transfer on the secular side of the tracks with out a doubt. The old way of Christian rap was no where near hitting the streets. The danger of secular rap/music is a catchy beat. So catchy in fact that you get caught up in the beat and dont pay attention to the words that you listening to. Man of the songs speak curses over your fsmily, friends, relatives. Exault other things as higher and more important than GOD and more. I see little 11 yrs old singing Rap songs out loud. The Bible makes it clear that the tongue has power over LIFE and Death. Some of these Kids are unwittingly altering their future without even knowing it. I stopped listening to mainstream rap about a yr ago. I actually took the time to listen to the lyrics..never mind the beat. I was disgusted with myself for even allowing the mess to end up in my temple. I am excited to toss out the old and worship GOD with the new. whether you agree or not these artist are taking back the Kingdom and providing a new way to worship. Listen to the message before you get judgemental. Remember..our Hebrew brothers felt the same way about Jesus. They didn't like the package that the Messiah came in so they rejected him and missed out on some GOOD stuff.

This is a new day. We are targeting lost souls and spreading the Gospel. This video conveys that I can be street and its still cool to worship GOD. I dont necessarily have to lose my edge to Embrace GOD.

And for those that have a problem with the money part in the video...the book of Proverbs says ..It is the Lord GOD that gets the power to create wealth....all of our work adds nothing to it.

I believe that was the reference of what CAJO was making in the song. The Lord provides. He doesnt have to plot, scheme, hustle. He has to put the Lord first and ALL of his provisions will be taken care of.

i beleive that Canton Jones is doing a great job in spreading the gospel to the youth with his music.for those who are having a problemwith him showing money food and clothes in the video shouldnt hav a problem with it. we should e rejoicing with him because God has provided for him abundantly. which also means if God can do it for him God can also do it for us. i beleive CaJo is just showing how great God is and how God loves his children so much that He provides them what they need and what they also desire. so lets not pass judgement because God uses the foolishes things to shame the wise. lets all love each other support each other and pray for one another.

I understand it all. I also listen to Canton and like his music. The 24s song kind of threw me too. I haven't seen this video, but read enough. It is true we are not to judge others. How can we? Matt 7:5 / Luke 6:42 take the plank out of your own eye! We are not judges. However, 1 John 4:1 and many other scriptures teach us of false prophets. Canton is not just making videos and music, he is preaching a message. Let us not forget. It's a message to the masses, so it is something to becareful of. Pray for him that any error may be corrected so he may be a light to others in Jesus' most Holy name. Ahmen.

CHRISTIANS QUIT CUTTING DOWN ON OTHER CHRISTIANS!!!!!!!!
written by A-Lien, August 08, 2009
we all can judge Canton Jones, but in the end we're not the ones going to be judging him or anybody else. As christians we dont have to worry about the world looking down on us, because we look down on each other more than the world does. I dont know his life. He may be the most spirit filled artist, or he may not but its not my place to judge him. I love his music and believe that there has to be some realness in there. Im a christian artist (christian rapper) and it hurts to see Christians cutting down other christians. There are probably alot of people who listened to the song, and it helped lead em to Christ. So if we want to cut down Canton, then were just cutting down the ones who are enlarging the kingdom. either 1st or 2nd Corinthians (I DO believe) says dont speak unless it builds up the church. So if we just go around speaking death into every artist, church, ministry etc. then were never gonna see the church grow. Just follow Christ and make sure that your life glorifies him. Half of the time we cant make it on our own, but then were the same ones that want to mess someones else's ministry up. So just worry about your own spirit and not everybody else...cause in the end its not gonna matter what you think (i know its hard to believe that our little opinions dont matter)

This is one of the Best videos put out by a Christain artist period. Its funny how we can hate on a man who gives honor to God, his wife, and family evertime you hear him. If you have never been to one of Canton Jones concerts, or talked to him personally( I Have ) and felt the annointing of God flowing from him then u shouldn't have nothing to say about the dude. Please Stop comparing everyone to reachrecord and crossmovement. Just because he doesn't sound like them don't mean he's not blessed of God. Reachrecords and Crossmovement are Good, but Caton Jones is on another level! Just my opinion! Just like I feel J.R of Crossmovement is beyond the label!! These are Groundbreaking artist!! They are pushing the boundries of where we can go as Christain artist and Christain's Period!! Keep doing ya thang Cajosmilies/smiley.gif

Some people need to go through Proverbs and read about the value of wisdom. Everything about Canton Jones, or "CaJo" screams money and prosperity. Look at all the flashy stuff, the way he self glorifies himself by talking about himself in the third person, trying to look like Young Jeezy. Cajo this, Cajo that. Might as well be secular.

If you know the first thing about Prosperity teachings, than you'll find the first red flag in his song 24s when he states "tithing finally paid off". TITHING ISN"T SUPOST TO PAY OFF USING MONEY SO YOU CAN BUY RIMS. The purpose of tithing is to give back to the church and help people who don't have money, not get more yourself so you can be boastful and say "I'm so glad God blessed me with a new Bentley." Does this sound anything like Jesus? Trip says it best "Look I don't know what they told you but if it don't match up/With His holy Word then homie they need to back up"

Take a look at any other artist that TRULY promotes the Gospel, like anyone on Reech Records. Or do me a huge favor and listen to Trip Lee's Real Vision he talks about this exact same scenario.

"For instance, some say to come to Christ for riches/Or maybe your blessing, but my question is what is this?Cause that ain't the gospel, that if you put your faith in Him/To come to the Savior, and then you'll rake that paper in? Face it friends, they made Jesus they holy ATM"

Do you see any of these other artists ever referring to anything material? It's unfortunate so many people fall into this trap. Open up your eyes people, than open up your Bibles.

Canton Jones is God sent!

all about God: n nothing else...

This is my first time seeing this site, and i been on here for about an hour, reading comments of what people are saying about CJ, and just music... Some say CJ is misleading people, some say he is leading people to Christ, some say he will lead people right to hell... Well here is the bottom line. Judge not or be judge, them that Judge will bust hell wide open, thats what my bible tells me.. (kingJames).. 1st. Judgein is a sin, with sin u cant make it to the kingdom. CJones is doing what he need to do the win souls to the Kingdom of God. The bible tells us to GO OUT and make disciples and spread the Good news of the Gospel, and tell people to repent and be baptize in the Name of the Father, son, and the Holy Spirit aka Holy Ghost... This is What CJ, is doing. This is what God told him to do. And if he do not do this then his is being disobedience to God and his word, And that would put the Blood on CJ hands. And im common sense tells me that CJ, is not going to hell 4 anybody. Plus thats a sin to not do what the bible tells us to do, and not do what God tells us to do. As a Christian he are carrying the oracles of God in us, because we are his word. So God Word should be in u and i, so that we can win souls over to the kingdom of God. Thats y im a word carrying, holy ghost baptize, born again believer. Because i have some Word power in me, that i refuse to keep to my self. I do the same thing CJ does, i make music. Not to please people or please myself but to Spread the Good news of the Gospel, and to please God. This is a way that i use to take back what the enemy stole for God, and me. God made music, but people are misusing music, and now that us Christian are taken back whats ours the World think that we are trying to be like them.., But they can think what they wont, cause im doing what i have to do to left my God Up, so that he will draw all man unto him... I LOVE CHRIST WITH A PASSION. i will never trade him in for anything. I push Christ so people wont have to spend life in Hell burning and crying and trying to kill their self. Because hell is real, and if we dont stop playing with God, then most of the world will end up there. SO with all that said, lets put on the hole Army of God and fight together, and win these souls. U can get at me on myspace... Myspace.com/dfullamusik.. or my website Gogetta.net.. Its not done yet but ill hit u back anytime... PICK ya cross up and Follow Christ instead of following people on Twitter.. JESUS CHRIST BABIII... CJ keep up the Good work... cant wait to we drop that track together, its going to be hot...

Alright so i think he could have pulled something else out like food in one hand and clothes in the other(The two things that we should be content if we have) but why is it such a big deal that he pulled out money. he's never once, that i've heard, said in a song that Christ is just the means for money. so why are people saying that he's gone prosperity doctrine on us. "Don't waste your life man."
seriously people?
written by truluvclothing, June 10, 2009
To even think you are judging this guy on talking about money?? SERIOUSLY? Grow up. Your'e a Christ follower correct? You wanna do something for God? Go reach the world, people who havent heard of God or do not yet believe in God.. rather than wasting your time talking about cajo's supposed "faults" on his music. We should all be on the same side!! Yeah, I sound heated. Cuz I kinda am. Stop being so religious people, and just be Christ followers. Its not about religion, its about Christ. This isnt directed torwards everyone so dont go all hate fest on me. Its directed to people who feel as though they are almighty enough to diss someone else in their walk with God.

the money is just used to represent a lot of things! its just a way of getting a message across, no big issue....
just because you know God doesnt mean you should be lacking, ofcourse we do need money but it shouildnt replace God. at leat he is wise enough to know that God is his provider and not ashamed tp show it!!

The video is ok. I see no problem with it except that part when he says Jevovah Jireh my provider and pulls out the money. Like that is all God is known for. But after all He is a member of Creflo Dollar's church.

family of christ.....??? we embarasse the name of God while the world just looks and laughs! please dont bring the world into confussion....let us be the light... and yes the light is meant to attract people!! canton is doing it BIG while you are busy lying to yourselves... i know people who were transformed through his music...the WORDS ARE powerful and glorifying God not HIMSELF!
please lets walk in WIDSOM and in the Spirit...i hope that every comment that is left here is words that have been placed in your hearts by God HIMSELF!! words are powerful...
i cant believe most of these comments..smilies/sad.gif have you noticed something: we judge ourselves in the church, fight amonst ourselves and still we call ourselves children of God!! its a shame!! are you all saved?just be slow to speak or judge and pray for these people. God is the author and maker of all things, and i am sure that many people are blessed through his music!! (matthew 5:11-12) you can waste your time judging and so on but you are not bennefiting anyone.... i pray that us christians will BE ONE BODY OF CHRIST.... BE PURE IN HEART IN ALL YOU DO!!

Its a sin w/what you do w/money, and money is just a tool...you can look at it like a hammer, you can use it to build or to tear down. But thats w/a lot of things *therefore godliness is not a means of financial gain*...for we can have more than money to use in order to do great things, and who's greater than money?...JESUS CHRIST (Come on, we're talking about a God who took a few pieces of bread and fish to feed thousands). I hope that we all use our money to build and not to tear down, just like anything else that God *JESUS* may bless us with (words, hands, legs, house, computer, clothes, body, ect...).

An answer to your question.....
written by luvlifemuzik, February 26, 2009
Yogohey....
I have the album and I saw the video for it....and just from hearing him speak live I believe he is just using slang to say when trouble and troublemakers come up don't act out n the flesh! I don't think he is literally saying he will lose his salvation.

In the video he acts out different everyday situations (like someone cutting infront of him in a long line then being rude about it). There he has two choices either act the fool or think WWJD/"a soft answer turns away wrath". In each he chooses to do the right thing and "stay saved" instead of acting like Christ never did anything for us!

I believe the videos are on his website cantonjones.net or google it, check it out its pretty funny. I hope this answers your question!

I like most of Canton Jones' music. All except for one song "Stay Saved". It seems to me like he is implying that you can lose your salvation. If that is what he means than I don't feel like I can support his music. If he is just using it as an expression to mean he's not gonna start sinning then I don't have a problem with it. If anyone could clarify what he means in that song I would appreciate it.

Whatever you do
written by Niya, February 19, 2009
Whatever we do we should make sure that we are doing it to the glory of God. If Canton Jones says that his music is to glorify God, then we should not judge him. I am not a fan of his music, but I am also not a fan of tearing down men and women in the body of Christ. Let God be the judge of the motivations of the man's heart.

Canton Jones is not glorifying sin and calling himself a Christian. That is what we are called to judge, not the intentions of a man's heart who says that he is making music unto the glory of God. Need I remind people that back in the day Mahalia Jackson was labeled as an heretic for her music? The same music that we call annointed today!

Let God be true and every man a liar. So if you think about judging your brother or sister in Christ 'cause their ministry doesn't fit into your theology, think again.

Check out my album, 'Beauty Cries' on: www.myspace.com/niyaspeaks!!!

I think we were so spiritual we forgot this was a music video!
written by L. Trenay, February 19, 2009
This is a music video, it is used to visually appeal to the audience in connection with the song/message/artist. Canton needed a visual association to the names of God for each time he mentioned them in the song. He could have used a paper towel for the provision part but then again I want to see you ask God for a paper towel the next time you need your rent paid or provided for!!!
No provision does not just mean $ but it includes it an I think Canton did a good job on his video!
If you don't like it just make your own! But when you do just prepare yourself for the harsh opinions of not unbelievers but...yes...other Christians!!!!

Ok First of all for all those who are hating on Canton with the money, God judging, plank in the eye, etc..... listen.
First, think about what CAJO could be doing with his God giving talent!?? He could be in the mix with Chris Brown, T-pain, etc! He's using his talent for the LORD! Listen to the lyrics of this song! They are biblical, and they glorify God! As my youth Pastor & my family has said so many times, "Dont major on the minors." So why are we judging Canton because of some minor issue!?? How about putting into practice Ephesians 4:29 you guys. Building other Believers up is what we need to do, not tearing them down..... So Canton, Awesome song man! Keep up the good work for Christ!

"Jay nice...totally agree. I like THIS SONG, but I have an issue wit how he big ups God AND the material things he's been blessed wit. Homie, like 'Crae said on his Rebel album, knowin Jesus is enuff. I mean bling is nice but we need to be hyping Christ sooo much (n' Him alone) in da age we live in.still i really like da concept o' da video..."

That's just what a religious person would say...Please tell me where in the bible does it say that we are not allowed thank God for the material things that we do have. Here's a bubble buster for you, the 12 disciples WERE NOT BROKE MEN WHEN JESUS CHOSE THEM AND THEY WERE SINNERS.

My bible tells me that God gives us the power to obtain wealth. My bible also tells me that when I pay my tithes and give a good offering then he will rebuke the devour for my sake, open up the windows of heaven, and pour me out a blessing that I will not have room enough to receive(and that is not money alone).

And you say that knowing Jesus is enough...Guess what in 2009 you have to NOT ONLY KNOW JESUS, BUT SHOW JESUS. I listen to Lacrae as well and the song Rebel was about the life Jesus had on earth. What good did it serve for Jesus to die for us if he didn't want us to be thankful to him when we get new clothes, new car, new job with a raise...THINK ABOUT IT.

Why dos it matter?
written by D. Sotomi, February 08, 2009
Why should it matter what the music sounds like if it has the potential and the God-given power to inspire and to draw people to christ?
This song and many others like it, and even some quite different in style (eg christian rock, country or indie), inspire me and encourage me, and many other people. if you take this kind of music away from the youth, you have them listening to stuff that does appeal to them but doesn't enrich their souls ie: Usher-"love in this club" or something derogatory like that. Leave him be and let hm do what God has given him the grace to do all these years and if you don't like it, or it doesn't do anythig for you, please leave it for those it does do something for, and listen to something else. it's not the sound, it's the purpose. it's not the form in which god's blessing comes, but the fact that it comes and is indeed a blessing. There is no specific "proper" way to praise God- just let your heart be in it- Worship him in spirit and in truth. Stay blessed!smilies/wink.gif
Lord bless us....we have the same argument every decade!
written by L. Trenay, February 05, 2009
Divine purpose I totally agree with you about the days where young Christians wanted quality music that reflected what we believed in Christ. We had good artists with good intentions but we had a ways to go as far as production. Now we have grown and oppositon remains. You think when traditional gospel music was evolvong they didn't meet the same opposition from the church when it sounded like blues and jazz? Now that's all we hear! The argument either goes all the artist who don't sound like Shirley Caesar (whom I love) are not saved or if they do sound too traditional no one wants to see the youth saved!
For the people that don't agree with this music then God Bless you I see your heart wants the things of God and for the people that do agree with CaJo I see the same. But where do we meet if we want the thngs of God for this generation and ones to come. We pray just on that, for eyes to be opened all across the board but don't try to send your brother or any pastors to hell...that is not the best decision for your own soul! The word will remain through it all....but if we get caught up in the doctrine more than the reason then we are the Pharisees angry at the unconventional methods of Christ! Definately we can't miss the reason.....for the saving of souls to live for God and God alone!

Pray on!

Ok so, I`m avoiding all the Canton Jones/Creflo Dollar discussion.. just for my sanity. smilies/cheesy.gif

Fiyah joint - Canton isn't my absolute favorite ; I have my selection from his batch... I`m not gonna lie... didn't really appreciate the video too much. It was good, but it felt a bit cheesy.. tryna make it look like a "hard gangsta", maybe even "gritty, BET-like" video.. that didn't really appeal to me totally, but it was.. alright.
Don't get me wrong, I love 3H, both didactic & evangelistic - but make it believable at least.
Love the joint though. JMO.

It's not a sin to be wealthy

1. The song is hot no doubt, I am not a huge Canton fan but this one is a banger
2. Why is it that Christian artist and Christians and general has such a huge problem with money? I know the bible says the LOVE of money is the root of all evil but do people not read Ecclesiastes were it says money answers all things? I understand that there is a thin line between appreciation and materialism I do, but I think people are trying sooo hard to not come of like they are loving money that they give the portrayal of poor Christians who don't have nor want money.
I think in Christian music the focus should be doing the (right) God thing with money and not disowning money. How are we gonna get the gospel out without money? To make an album..it takes money. To promote a concert...money. To go on missions trips...MONEY.

There is no room for materialism when Christ gets the glory for success and I believe this is how Canton comes off.

Let's be discerning

As Christians, we can't afford to be on 'neutral' grounds in regard to the clear instructions of Scripture. We need to call sin and error for what it it is.

Observe the following:

"Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offenses contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them." (Romans 16:17)

"And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but
rather reprove them." (Ephesians 5:11)

"Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away." (2 Timothy 3:5)

"...rebuke them sharply, that they may be sound in the faith;" (Titus
1:13)

"And if any man obey not our word by this epistle,
note that man, and have no company with him, that he may be ashamed." (2
Thessalonians 3:14)

Canton Jones' Pastor is a HERETIC - he preaches FALSE DOCTRINE. False doctrine will damn one's soul to hell for eternity, if it is not repented of. If Canton Jones does not agree with the views of Creflo Dollar, then why is he associating himself with him? This is NOT biblical. The Bible says "Be not deceived: evil communications corrupt good manners". - 1Corinthians 15:33 Communications is this passage refers to those whom one may keep company with. Creflo Dollar has a proven track record for heresy. And Canton Jones seems to be following in the footsteps of this false teacher.

We can't judge what we don't know. But what we can and do know, we can judge rightly for a Biblical perspective. In this case, we can judge Canton Jones's doctrine, his associations and what he presents to the public. Let us not forget that Jesus himself said in Matthew 7 that not every one that says 'Lord, Lord' will get to heaven but those that DO the will of God. One does not need to know what is in Canton's heart to make a biblical judgment. The Bible doesn't tell us we need to know a man's heart to judge him, in fact the Bible tells us our hearts are all filled with wickedness - prone to backsliding and we need to constantly repent and place our faith in Christ.

The bottom line is - its either we believe the BIBLE is the final authority on all matter or not. God has a standard...are we willing to listen to him or go off on our own ideas about Christianity? Building Faith on Pragmatism is building a house on sand - its doomed to fall.

"Only God can really truly 'judge' people, because only He know what's truly in their hearts. And when all is said and done, His opinion is the only one that counts."

This is what I was referring to when I originally made that statement. I should have clarified. Obviously, as Christians we have to evaluate something before we become involved in it in order to check and see if it matches up with God's Word. But, what we cannot do is judge the intentions of someone's heart without being involved in their personal relationship with Jesus Christ. According to what I have seen, Canton Jones desires to make good Christian music that can reach a demographic of people who would never pick up the average Christian cd. And to the individual who did not give their name, I have an example for you. You are saying how Canton Jones is associated with a pastor who is quite questionable. I do not disagree with you there, but I have a retort. An association does not necessarily mean that they hold the same beliefs as this influencer with whom they are associated. Take for example Barack Obama. He is clearly associated with a pastor cut from the same mold, yet that did not keep anyone from voting for him? President Obama has even stated how important Jeremiah Wright has been in his life. Yet, Obama was given a pass, and he said that he did not necessarily agree with all of the views portrayed by his pastor. I'm not agreeing or disagreeing, just offering up a similar situation in order to keep matters in the proper perspective. God bless

of course we cant judge each other, as long as we're building each other up, and only if we're not in the same position (e.g. speck out of your own eye)
What about the Bible?
written by Quote Quote No Name, February 04, 2009
Firstly, by all authority of the Bible we have the right to judge. In fact, we judge every day every time we make a decision or make a distinction between something or action.

Canton Jones' Pastor is Creflo Dollar...who is one of those Word-Faith heretics that deny the sovereignty of God, and deify man. By their fruits you would know them. 2 John says that whoever transgresses and abides not in the doctrine of Christ, has not God. It goes further to teach that if any bids a false teacher 'Godspeed' he is a partaker of his evil.

The Bible warns about false teachers like Creflo Dollar and tells us to AVOID people like that. Canton Jones is following in the ways of his Pastor. He needs to repent.

I was a fan of Canton Jones, and I have seen him go from bad to worse. He is becoming more materialistic and ungodly. We must pray for him.

Thus speaketh the LORD of hosts, saying, Execute true judgment, and shew mercy and compassions every man to his brother: - Zechariah 7:9

Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment. - John 7:24

Prove all things; hold fast that which is good. - Thessalonians 5:21

Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God. Which things also we speak, not in the words which man's wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual. - Corinthians 2:12-13

All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: - 1 Timothy 3:16

We do have the authority to judge. This means basing our judgments on objective truth; judging things by God's absolute standard. If we are not to judge, this world me that we shouldn't preach the Gospel and tell people repent of their sins.

We can't judge what we don't know. But if we know in truth and fact that something is WRONG and UNBIBLICAL, we have the authority to speak against it and offer correction. Being judgmental, means casting a judgment that is not based on proper facts or basing a decision on an invalid argument in relation to the facts presented.

How are Christians to be the pillar and ground of truth if we can't distinguish the good from the bad. God gave us his word and we have common sense - let us glorify God in out judgments.
Remember- Only God can judge Canton Jones?
written by M. Immanuel, February 03, 2009
First of all, this comment is not about Canton Jones. It's about the concept that we can't judge people based on their actions.
I am full agreement that we shouldn't judge people out of a self-righteous nature. I am full agreement that we should not criticize people just to put them down or out of anger. After all, none of us are prefect.
But this concept that we can't constructively try to help people by telling them the truth (not matter how hard the truth may be) is ridiculous.
Imagine: You and your friend are @ Wal-mart, shopping for Sunday schools supplies. You see your friend shoplifting. You're like “Whoa. Stop. Stealin' is wrong.” And your friend is like “You can't judge me. We can't afford to pay these inflated prices and the more stuff we have, the more children we reach. I'm doing this for God, and only God can judge me.”

Even if someone is a minister for God, when he/she brings the Gospel, he's better come correct. Otherwise, (and this may sound like it, but this is not harsh), he shouldn't come at all.

Only God can really truly 'judge' people, because only He know what's truly in their hearts. And when all is said and done, His opinion is the only one that counts.
But, we as Christians, have a responsibility to seek after righteousness (which I know kind of sounds like some super-spiritual goal, but it's really not. We just gotta place the concept in motion, and God will help us.) And we as Christians, when we've seen someone fallen, have a duty to help pick them up. And most of the time, that includes telling them why that fell down in the first place. We do this out of love for them. ( It should NEVER be done out of hate, self-righteousness or hypocritically...or else is that wrong kind of judging talked about in the beginning Matthew 7.)

Lastly, let me emphasizes that this is not about Cajo. I haven't heard all his music. I know sometimes he sounds materialistic, but I do like most of what I've heard. And, 4 sure, I like this song.

-Grace and peace
PS
To divinepurpose, mh and others: I've read the comments. Let me assure y'all, this is so not about hating anyone because he or she is rich.

To Cool B.: Question: You said it's "one thing to see a video, and another to see some one live and hear the heart of what their ministry is about", right? Again, this isn't about CaJo, but for most artists, we mostly see their Music Video and hear their song a lot more than we see them in real life. It's always best to "judge" with a complete picture, but shouldn't a Christian artist's music reflect his lifestyle? We may not all have chances to see every artist live, so when we buy their CDs and watch their videos, should not they clearly present their ministry also by those means?
really?
written by divinepurpose, February 03, 2009
people... you have to understand that this man is spreading the GOOD NEWS of Jesus Christ! Let's not shoot him down because he stays fresh! Listen to his music. His heart is sold out to God and his music is God inspired. I have been waiting YEARS for Christian Hip-Hop/R&B to reach a level of quality in production and skill that provides people with an enjoyable Christ-centered alternative to secular music. We finally get it, and people are still COMPLAINING? It really blows my mind. Did anyone else grow up listening to T-Bone, and Grapetree Records artists just hoping and praying that one day things would be better? I know I did. Don't you think that if this man wanted to detract from God's work that he would just make secular music? But, he doesn't and people are coming to Christ through the Holy Spirit's conviction because of this music. Remember- Only God can judge Canton Jones!

Are we all on the same side? The world cannot look to us as light if we don't seem to agree on something! I also respect CaJo as a man of God. I was at a church were he performed and there were many that did give their life to the Lord after he was done. In the video didn't he cover just about all the names of God. Which is truly what God wants us to acknowledge. We must remember Jesus wasn't blinging but he was not a dummy either he knew in this world he had to advance the kingdom he needed money to do so that is why he had a personal treasurer. He had business men as his essential followers. We can't go around being afraid of money we absolutely can't love it. We need it to get on the plane to take us to those souls. We need to have the provisions that allow us to preach the gospel. Our faith is at work when are not afraid to let go of things like money and also recieve it. We can never lose the message but we can't live in a world and not be able to reach it because we feel God doesn't want us to have money! We have to remember mega-churches were once small churches with big visions and we do need both. The video was appealing and it did speak truth from his perspective. Moses preached in the desert (mind you, with the largest congregation ever) but David lived in a palace and had the vision to build a temple for the Lord with extreme riches. Both were doing the will of God. We must seek first the kingdom and His righteousness and for that reason alone. But check it if He never wanted us benefit from our seek He would not have promised to "add" and the addition comes for the chance to advance the kingdom and get the message out in this world. Lets stop attacking this already vulberable sub-genre of ours and do what we can to make sure souls are saved just like ours...and if it don't sit well with you pray bout it!!!!

Gods Peace and Love to all of you.

I just pray that young belevers dont get lost in the hype of the glamour, and feel that God wants them to live in big houses wit big cars and lots of jewels n thang, he wants us to seek him first. some may be rich, some maybe middle class, some maybe poor (look at Jesus's life)....the truth is not everybody can handle wealth, and use it to the GLORY OF GOD! but yeah good video anyways, but jus like MH said, we as christians need to be carful that we dont take the word of God out of contex.

mh, who said because you are saved mean that you have to be poor? You can be rich and weathy and be saved. Tha's great. You also can be poor and be saved. Stick with the book! There's nothing wrong with being rich. But I think it is better to focus on spiritual things. Look at next two verses of that same book and chapter. He had great joy that he walked in the truth.
I like Canton Jones, and I haven't even heard 24's.

Nothing's wrong with be rich, but be careful not focus on money more than God.
-... you'll never see a soul who profit chasing the profit/ Now look at 1 Timothy 6 it's so clear/ you chase the money and wind up in a snare/ now a vow of poverty? NO, it's NOT there/ but you pursue God the rest he takes care/ you don't step on his back in order to get rich/ if you do then you're in sin and ordered to repent/ You come come to Christ for God/ You come to Daddy for worship/ He ain't take that Cross to fund your vanity purchase/ even though we all agree that death is certain/ it seems we believe there's banks beyond earth (THAT'S CRAZY)
Yall are over-analyzing this...
written by Mike 0, January 29, 2009
Yo-we truly are in no position to judge the dude you know? There are folks that over-analyze things. All I gotta say is yeah, 24's was a weird approach to spreading the Gospel but hey, everybody's different and just because you feel shaky about it, it saved individuals that NEEDED that type of approach. As for his glamour and what not, it just goes with the individual he is-CaJo is proud and joyful with where's he's at in the Lord and it reflects his image and actually in his lyrics, he boats about the glamour, but he gives God the glory! Anyways, CaJo came and performed/ministered at my church recently and yall, it was powerful. It was a youth event and there were MANY, MANY, MANY youth that gave their life to the Lord that night-so like I said, it's just an approach that some lost folk need-don't over-analyze it!
ok...I will,...because I can't stand when the script is taken out of context
written by J, January 29, 2009
3rd John 1:2 is John writing to Gaius saying that he wishes for his health and soul to prosper. It has nothing to do with riches. That script is taken out of context so many times and used to justify that God wants us rich...not true. Some of us may be rich monerarily and some of us may live in poverty. I know plenty of Christians who are not rich and are struggling but have great faith in God and if I may say more than most of the prosperity preachers. Faith is pastoring a small flock for several years and you having to take your own money to keep the doors open, but you keep preaching and believing God to make a way each day. It's easy to preach faith when you got a mega church and you don't have to worry about where the money for the building expenses is gonna come from. Just like Noah preaching 120 yrs that's it's gonna rain and get ridiculed for it, but he keeps believing and working 120 yrs!!!!..and you can't have the best of both worlds...Jesus said in Mark 6:24 "you cannot serve both God and money". and let me quote Crae.."you chase the money, you end up in a snare" 1Tim.6:9 "But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare..." The only thing God tells us to chase after or seek is HIM the LORD God Almighty and His righteousness. Matthew6:33. Not money, not a job, not a wife or husband, not anything material. In love

The nature of Jesus Muzik is that he's listening to Jesus Music.

God & Materiality
written by M. Immanuel, January 26, 2009
I agree with you, ZMJ, being blessed is 'bout spiritually. But I don't think it about materially or even about physically. Now I am not saying that being a Christians means you have to be poor or weak. And I fully agree that God does bless some of His people with wealth and health, but wealth and health in themselves is not being blessed. Being blessed is about having the personally relationship with and drawing closer to God, and all the joy that comes from that.
I don't think it is wrong to take pleasure in material things. I want a nice house and car and stuff (although 24s seems so stupid to me, no offense to any of y'all.), but when you focus becomes stuff (or God as long as he gives you stuff) your head is in the wrong place. Being a Christian, in my opinion at least, is about more than what God can do for you.
With that said, I like Canton Jones (sometimes in spite of CaJo) and I believe he IS a servant of the Ministry.

"an it's sickening, that knowing God aint enough we gotta tell em they can get rich quickly/ now this is heresy/ false it's not true/ 2nd corinthians chapter 8 and verse 2 / read that and please believe that forget a c-note man they pockets was e-flat. They still had joy"
