This is one of the best songs ive heard since joyful noise. Lyrically this is Lecrae's greatest display of both talent and a love for God. The beat and the speed rapping flows along smoothly. My fave lines are in the last verse, "Yo money, yo singleness, talent, yo time/ They belong to you to show the world that Christ is divine/ That's why its Christ in my rhyme/ That's why its Christ all the time/ My whole world is built around Him, He's the life in my lines" Poetic genius.

ive been lookin at the negative comments lately and i have 2 say that i completely disagree. i do agree with the fact that since its a high energy song u would expect the video to be but the on Crae made was true to the subject matter 100%. Isn't substance more potent than style? This video showed how just because u live the "AMERICAN DREAM" doesnt mean u've had a successful life. its successful when it glorifies Christ and the cross in everything u do. and thats exactly wat this video does... glorifies Christ!!!!!

I dont care how much of a storyline is in any video. If Im not entertained I am not going to watch it. PERIOD. This video did entertain me though. I think people are just getting mad because its a member of 116 and any criticsim that isnt positive aimed at them there fans get mad at. For instance, the Joyful Noise music video didnt have a storyline but it was still entertaining. Humble Tips vide "Cant Give In" was nothing but storyline, but it was still entertaining. For all the expposure this song had and for all the energy that it creates a live shows the video just didnt reflect what we had been expecting and really wanting, PLUS Cam and Dwayne werent in it. I dont care if they had to fly him in, his verse was hot and he brings life to videos. All in all it gets like 3.5 out of 5 stars in my book.

Yes I agree that a video is to tell a story, but it also should capture the emotion of the song, and this video was so overhyped that when you saw it it was too normal. I mean, sure it told a story, and you can appreciate it, but it had no type of visual appeal to it at all, like Viktory's video did. Knowing Lecrae's past video's, this felt lackluster, as well as rushed. Trip Lee's video also told a great story, it was fantastic actually, and the visuals matched the flow and vibe of the song. People were expecting this video to be hype and it was real subdued.

But even then, not every video needs to tell a story either, but you can't say that it didn't have a steady stream and was just visuals. The light that Proph 1, Bro. Wize, and DJ Morph was carrying was supposed to be the light of Christ, and that's why no one can break them, because if God be for us, who can be against us.

Don't have to be complex, everything just has to work together, and match the power of the song. That's what a video does. This video didn't live up to the expectation brought to it, and even though it expressed a story, it does well to express a story good, and it didn't come off in a way people could receive it, that's what I thought of it.

What is really surprising anf funny to me is when the Frontlynas video came out everybody had nothing but positive comments for it. Although, there was no concept, story or anything at all going on in the video except the frontlynas and dj morphiziz standing there rapping in front of a green screen. That video is okay. Yet, this video which has an interesting and creative concept and is good quality is being labeled as bad and low quality. I guess people would rather see a video where there's nothing going on than one with an actual story. I mean I thought the purpose of a music video was to bring visual description to a song.

After the story line was explained to me, it is a cool story line, great message... but life changing? I have to disagree.

Who's life is it gonna change. Because the only people who would watch such a low quality video would be Christians because we are starving for Christian entertainment.

This looks like it was recorded on a cell phone. What happened to the high quality videos like Trip's "Real Vision," or Flame's "Joyful Noise." And why would Crae raise quality expectations and set the bar high with "Jesus Muzik," and then release a video with such terrible quality.

I love the concept, and the song, but the video was half executed. I agree with the fact that it looks like they were bored one weekend and decided to make a video. Notice that before most CMR videos we start seeing polls on Rapzilla about what you would like to see first. Ex: Tedashii's new album, Trip's new video, etc.

So it largely seemed unplanned and low budget with good ideas that were poorly executed.

I agree that this vid didn't live up to the anticipation. I usually watch the top CHH vids alot and save them, this one doesn't make my rotation. Still love those guys though.

I remember all the hype surrounding this video, and it's understandable that Tryumf couldn't be there, I'm cool with this.

What I'm not cool with is the fact that the wait and anticipation was high for the video, and it looks like its something they just decided to do one weekend to get it over with. I'm all for story lines(Viktory's "On Fire" does this very well), but with such a song as this, the nature of the video was very subdued, instead of as hyped up as I thought it would be.

This is the same thing that happened with Ambassador's video "Gimme Dat", yet even his video was better than this one.

I know it's not about flashiness in the video either, so it's cool....but then you look at humble Tip's video and notice he did better in telling the story(well the whole thing with label execs beating him up was a bit over the top lol but the point was received).

The reason why I'm surprised is because I know of the amount of high quality stuff reach puts out and this looks rushed in my opinion. trip Lee's "Real Vision" video was strategic in the visuals that were placed and I was able to continue paying attention.

May his next video be better. Maybe he can do "Change" or "Indwelling Sin" with like his heart being personified digitally as they are having a conversation like the song goes. Who knows.

Also, "building up the body" is not giving someone a compliment for a shoddy video. I'm not gonna sugar coat my dislike to make people feel fuzzy inside. I'm pretty sure also that Lecrae will be able to sleep at night if I don't like his video.

I understand your passion and I agree, the video wasnt what I expected or preferred, but tearing it down does nothing positive. Lets always keep it real, but use tack and sompassion fam, lets build the Body, because theres alot of people who like it and would disagree with your OPINION.

It was so cheesy how Lecrae just sat there writing and rapping with his verse playing. No one writes like that! It's so unrealistic. I didn't really get what the skit was about, it was confusing. Also, what happened to Dwayne Tryumpf's verse?

He has a site called 'Desiring God', and they put this video together. (If anyone else had done it, I imagined it would have been a still good, but very, very, very different video.)

Rumors aren't good things to get started. According to Reachrecords.com, "For those familiar with the album version, Dwayne Tryumf could not be n the video and the song used is a two verse version. (it's harder to collaborate overseas for video!)". Now, I wished they did collaborate, but I also know DT is busy his 777 album. But don't go assuming "different vibes" or he was "caught in sin" (Boogy, I know that's not what you were saying).
{Plus both Lecrae and DT were on Katalyst's new album, so I doubt that they have beef.}
And am I the only one who missed CAM?
About the video: Not what I wasn't expecting. I was expecting (and kinda wanted) more HYPE, fun, flashy type stuff. Praise God, I don't always get what I want. Thanks for the message. I only wish it was longer.
To Kyle76, the video meant, as I understand, it may not be who you think who is wasting his/her life. We see two men. One looks like he has it all. The other one turns out to be in jail. But the convicted guy isn't the one who is wasting his life. (I'm assuming) He found Jesus Christ in prison, and just wanted to encourage the one who got away not to waste his life...

Vid was awesome. They probably cut Dwayne from the song because his verse wouldn't fit the story line and the song would be too long for commercial radio and video stations...
