Lamp Mode Recordings is releasing The Atonement by shai linne on February 12th. The Atonement is shai’s follow up to his critically acclaimed The Solus Christus Project, released in 2005.

When asked about his new album, shai states, “The Atonement is a thematic lyrical presentation of the great saving work accomplished on the cross 2,000 years ago by Jesus Christ. Each song is an expression of either the necessity of, the event of, or the implications of The Atonement. That which the Bible refers to as "of first importance" gets center stage here. I may be your narrator, but the star of The Atonement is Jesus Christ… join us as we take a sonic journey into the very heart of the Christian faith.”

shai is set to be featured on Grammy-nominated Flame’s (Cross Movement Records) new album, Our World Redeemed, which releases March 4th of this year. He has also been featured on national releases with Paul Wright, Delirious, Seventh Day Slumber, Lecrae, Cross Movement and others.

Lamp Mode Recordings exists to “Highlight the character of God, while presenting the Gospel of Jesus Christ and a biblical worldview, through hip-hop culture”.

The message

To be honest,I like tight head-bobbin beats too, but Shai could come out with an accapella album and I would still buy it. The neosoul eastcost philly feel Solus Christus had was refreshing (I guess you have to like jazz). Shai's skill, theology, and passion for the pureness of the gospel encourage me to go deep into the Holy Scriptures and never come up.
instrumentalism

yeah, isaac o, i feel you: if you're mostly into synthesized or crunk beats, lamp mode won't impress you. i happen to love live instrumentalism and gritty, underground beats. i was into native tongues and the like in the past so what lamp mode does "is" hip hop for me! but some prefer the flavor you're talking about. sometimes we don't like it, but we generally have to go with the type of sound the rapper like spittin over.

peace.
Big up Shai

Shai Linne is an incredible lyricist and it's obvious that he's got a heart for ministry.I totally felt him on "To my Heart" which is a track on Flame's sophomore album,"Rewind" plus he Phanatik and Stephen the Levite totally amazed me on "Mic Check 1,2" on Solus Christus Project. But I must agree that the producers need to be more creative on the beats.Much Love Shai.Grace and Peace
