DC Talk Finally Announce Tour After 20 Year Intermission

Some of you might be asking, “What and who are DC Talk?” Well, the trio of TobyMac, Michael Tait, and Kevin Max helped lay the roots of Christian hip-hop when they exploded on the scene with their 1989 self-titled album. From there, they experienced perhaps the biggest run in Christian music history until they went on an “intermission” in 2000.

Since then, TobyMac has become a powerhouse in CCM music. Michael Tait has gone on to front the legendary Christian band Newsboys, and Kevin Max had his own stint of Audio Adrenaline’s frontman and as an enigmatic solo artist producing art pop/rock.

Three years ago they broke the Internet when they announced that after 15 years they’d be reuniting for a show…on a cruise ship. Then, just last week, they did the cruise again. Now, Michael Tait spilled the beans in an interview saying the trip would be doing a “land cruise,” aka tour with dates over the next few years. Kevin Max confirmed this info to be true in a couple of Facebook posts as well.

“I’ve got news for you. We just finished the dc Talk cruise yesterday, Pete and I. TobyMac performed, dc Talk, K-Max, Newsboys. But next year dc Talk will be doing a land cruise. We’ll be doing tour dates in the states, not announced yet, but it will be very few, but we’ll do them each year, ’20, ’21, and probably ’22. We’ll be around here somewhere eventually. I might be the first guy of the band to announce it. Toby and Kevin haven’t, but it’s official we’ll be doing some dates. Yes,” Tait said to 98.5 KTIS.

This is huge news for the Christian music market and no doubt tickets will sell out almost immediately.

All we can say for now is, stay tuned.
