I.D.O.L. King Preparing To Make A Comeback

I.D.O.L King is regarded as pioneers by their peers in Christian Hip-Hop. The group was founded in 1985 and started releasing music in 1991. C.O. and DJ Cut No Slack (I.D.O.L King) have rocked stages alongside some of the heavy weights in Christian music like The Cross Movement, Gospel Gangstaz, The Grits, Kirk Franklin, Third Day,Toby Mac,and Lecrae. They also shared the stage with legends Ray Charles and Ice Cube. I.D.O.L King performed on BET’s Comic View in 1997, it was one of the few times that a Christian Hip-Hop group got mainstream exposure on a national television show.

The Hip-Hop duo is an inspiration to many movers and shakers currently leading the Christian Hip-Hop movement. Their last album ‘Not by Might’ was released in 2004. We recently released a flashback Friday record by S.F.C. that was produced by DJ Cut No Slack, one half of I.D.O.L King.

It’s been 8 years since I.D.O.L King has released a project but you can’t count the duo out yet, recently the pioneering group announced they are working on new music. They have been recording new music since April. Hopefully an update will be given soon. What other pioneers would you like to see make new music?
