J Dubb

Born and raised by his mother, J Dubb grew up in Espanola, NM, known to many as the Heroin overdose capitol of the world. Life was not easy, and growing up in a troubled home; he soon took to the street life, as so many in the small town do. Emulating the life he saw growing up, he began to sell and use drugs. Partying and getting into trouble were just part of everyday life. Things took a turn at the age of 18, when he was introduced to a different lifestyle, one drastically different than one he was used to. He gave his life to God during a Christian drama presentation in his community. He left the drugs and alcohol behind and began to pursue after a new passion-Jesus. J Dubb began his music ministry reaching out to the urban community, desperate to offer them the message of hope that had just transformed his life. J Dubb used whatever opportunities available, street outreaches in neighborhoods and parks, the places that he could strategically target with his music and the Gospel of Jesus Christ. He has realized the influence that today’s hip hop music has on today’s young generation, and he has used it to his advantage. By offering a message of hope and salvation through Jesus Christ in the form of Holy Hip hop, he has found a way to reach out and minister in a relevant way to the very same streets that he came from. For over 15 years-J Dubb has ministered at venues large and small including Beijing, China during the 2008 Olympics, as well as in the city of Shanghai. He has also performed at many venues throughout the US, including the states of Georgia, Colorado, California and Kansas. J Dubb has been married for 10 years and has 3 Children. He and his wife continue to carry out the vision of reaching souls through the ministry of holy hip hop. They are currently the head youth directors at New Hope family worship center in Espanola, NM.
