Bun B predicts Lecrae, Mali Music will beat Eminem, Beyoncé at 2015 Grammys

Houston hip-hop legend Bun B believes Christian hip hop’s presence at the 2015 Grammy Awards, Lecrae and Mali Music, will leave the Staples Center with their hands full.

“I’m sure that no matter the outcome, they’re both very honored to be nominated,” Bun B told Rapzilla via text message. “It’s great when hard work gets acknowledged. Even better when it’s rewarded. I think they got it personally but I know they can handle it gracefully if they don’t.”

The Recording Academy nominated Lecrae, who featured Bun B on a Church Clothes 2 interlude, for three awards and Mali Music for two. Their stiffest competition will come in the Best Rap Performance and Best Urban Contemporary Album categories: Lecrae will face Eminem, Drake, Kendrick Lamar and Childish Gambino for Best Rap Performance, while Mali Music will take on Beyoncé, Chris Brown, Pharrell Williams and Jhene Aiko for Best Urban Contemporary Album.

Bun B, who as a member of the duo UGK was nominated for Best Rap Performance in 2001 and 2008, confirmed that he thinks Lecrae and Mali Music will even win those honors.
