Gemstones will perform at an upcoming BET Music Matters event, according to his Facebook account.
The opportunity comes after the Xist Music artist released his debut retail LP, Blind Elephant, last month. The album peaked at No. 20 and No. 17 on Billboard’s Christian and Heatseekers Album charts, respectively. Buy it on iTunes or Amazon.
Christian hip-hop artists including Lecrae, Trip Lee and Transparent have performed at Music Matters events in the past. Transparent won a showcase in Los Angeles last year when Lecrae, MC Jin and Mali Music sat on a panel of judges with two BET executives and the Director of Label Marketing for Island Def Jam.
