Rapzilla Ranks on Top 100 Influential Digital Music Publications in the World

The Style of Sound ranked Rapzilla.com number 55 on their Top 100 Influential Digital Music Publications in the World list for 2016.

This is the second time Rapzilla has been honored on one of these lists, as last year, the publication was named number 5 on Style of Sound’s 100 Most Influential Online Hiphop Music Publications in the World.

“The SOS 100 includes websites whose main activity is to provide music reportage. This index excludes newspapers, radio stations, forums, video sites, and online message boards not to mention music aggregator sites, record labels, e-commerce sites, lifestyle news sites, and others at our discretion,” wrote S.O.S.

How does The Style of Sound come up with their list?

We’ve found social engagement to be a good indicator of online influence as it is in essence a digital word-of-mouth recommendation.

When music fans regularly share a site’s content over time in great numbers, the more influential it becomes, helping the site become ubiquitous – and trusted.

Our list is based on the total number of social engagements a website’s content received over a set period of time – in our case over the last 12 months – and we counted social shares across Facebook (including likes and comments), Twitter, Pinterest, Google+ and Linkedin.

Whilst this method is not 100% fool proof it provides the best measure of global music influence to date.

Find the list here.

Thank you The Style of Sound for the acknowledgment.
