Songkick and Shazam Partner for Ultimate ‘Artist-to-fan Relationship’

Popular app Shazam and music platform Songkick have partnered up to provide concert information about a new artist whenever Shazam is used.

Announced at the Billboard Touring Conference in Los Angeles, this team-up will begin in early 2017.

“In partnering with Songkick to create this new offering, we are able to further connect the dots from discovery to fandom that make up a strong artist-to-fan relationship,” said Chief Product Officer at Shazam, Fabio Santini in a statement.

The CEO of Songkick, Matt Jones, shared similar sentiments and hopes to spread the wealth of new music with information about performances to all users.

“The moment of discovery is such an important time to educate the fan about a show. I’m proud to say we’ve built a technology platform that will enable every artist we work with, and every fan who uses us, a chance to seamlessly discover new artists and immediately have the opportunity to see them live,” said Jones. “Shazam plays such a pivotal role in music discovery, and we’re excited to expand our reach to millions of more live music fans around the globe, ensuring Songkick is available wherever fans are engaging the most.”

Songkick has seen its status growing exponentially over the last year since its merger with Crowdsurge which propelled it to over 12 million users monthly.
