Urban D. and Spec recently went to Nigeria to speak at a Purpose Driven Conference. It was an incredible opportunity as they taught several workshops to a group of Nigerian pastors that gathered in the capitol city of Abuja for the conference. The host church also put on a concert at a secular theater which was filled to capacity with over 800 people. Urban D. headlined the night with a full set backed up by Spec. He also got to give a ministry spill that impacted many. There will be a full video shown at this year's Fla.vor Fest - but in the meantime check out this highlight video showing scenes from the tour.
UK hip-hop quintet GreenJade has stepped down from this year’s MOBOs Award after being nominated in the Best Gospel category. The London-based group wrote a letter to MOBOs officials to be removed from the nomination’s list. The group said its request has now been granted by officials.
Christian rapper Lecrae debuts Rebel on Billboard's "Top Rap Albums Chart" at No. 8. His third album, Rebel, shelved off 9,800 discs in its opening week! This doesn't count digital downloads, which for the first week was No. 4 on the Hip Hop/Rap Album Chart of iTunes.
Our advice to Reach Records is to send out a press release to all media outles (Christian and Secular) and be sure they all have a copy of Rebel for review, get all the coverage, even negative, doesn't matter. Because this album is making an impact and if it doesn't go out to the press it can miss great opportunities. Imagine someone who lost his faith, then reads his daily secular hip hop news, sees an article about Rebel maybe negatif because it's Christian, but then gives the album a listen and then recommits his life to the Lord. That's what I'm talking about!
Many of you have been waiting for DJ Morph's new mixtape "International" on iTunes and it is now available . Lecrae's Rebel has been out for a week now and it is still in the TOP sales charts of iTunes. TOP HIP HOP Albums: #4 and TOP ALL Albums: #29.
