Believin Stephen is happy to announce news of his project he's working on. It will be called the "Perseverance" Mixtape and will be dropping in 2009.
This will be a FREE mixtape and he's planning to post it on a few sites online (Rapzilla maybe?) as well as make some CD-R copies. Believin Stephen is using the government's Stimulus check to help fund the mixtape.
There will be a number of features on this project which will be announced at a later date. Things to count on: he will be sharing his heart, some full length songs (not just a bunch of random verses), covering different facets of the idea of perseverance, and of course Christ being exalted.
The album cover has just been revealed minutes ago. Syntax Records is going to release a mixtape nationally November 11 2008 entitled the "Wages of Syntax 2" hosted by DJ Promote.
Let’s “chop it up.” Let’s put a weighty matter on the table and dissect it until we can digest it, digest it until we possess it, and possess it so that we reflect it. Who talks like this; who welcomes this kind of thinking or this kind of activity? Paul said that “the mature do,” they embrace the idea of straining and agonizing to take hold of maturity (Phil 3:15). Welcome to my new syndicated column “The Chop Chop” where we advocate unpacking meatier matters of faith and culture for the benefit of our souls.
I'm doing my best to seize this moment when I don't have much to do. Well that's not the truth I have plenty to do but I don't feel so overwhelmed that I can't write.
I am hurting for the world. Not some generic "world" that people cant see or touch. But for the world around me. For my family, my community, for nations.
I was browsing through some blogs and I was reminded of a question that I get from alot of aspiring producers, and that is:
"Tony, how do I get my name out there?"
I do realize that there are producers that look up to me, and I take that with great honor and thanks to God, hoping that I can make the most God glorifying impact on them. But I would like to answer every producer with a similar question in this one blog.
Earlier Wednesday, Mr Del's manager, Lawrence Haywood, contacted Memphisrap.com by phone and has confirmed that the Christian hip hop artist has indeed signed a multi-million dollar deal with Universal Distribution.
As reported Tuesday on MemphisRap.com, the former Three 6 Mafia member and Grammy nominee, Mr Del, inked a distribution deal with the company Universal Distribution which according to Haywood, the deal was closed mid July in link with Universal's "christian link" which is not necessarily a new Christian rap division of the company but it's a working link with Christian rap artists such as beginning now with Mr Del. Whether or not this will lead to more signings of Christian rap acts, only time can tell.
