Throwback Thursday: Newsboys & KJ-52 Cover DC Talk’s ‘Jesus Freak’

In the aftermath of the DC Talk reunion cruise announcement, this Throwback Thursday takes us back to 2010 when Michael Tait, now of the Newsboys, teamed up with KJ-52 to recreate “Jesus Freak” for a whole new generation of fans.

For some, the mixing of Newsboys and DC Talk was blasphemous, but at least the DC Talk connection of Tait was there.

Tait does double duty, provided the vocals of his parts and covering Kevin Max’s parts. KJ handles the iconic raps of TobyMac and does a great job giving it his own twist.
