“The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” featured Lecrae again on Friday night, and this time, he brought some of his team.
Alongside DJ Promote and drummer Nate Robinson, Lecrae performed “Welcome to America,” track No. 2 off his seventh studio album Anomaly. They performed an altered version of the song, which sampled parts of a speech by Martin Luther King, Jr.

Lecrae joined Fallon’s house band, The Roots, on Sept. 18 after Anomaly climbed to No. 1 on Billboard with its success the week before. Since then, The Recording Academy had nominated Lecrae for three 2015 Grammy Awards — Best Rap Performance for his song “All I Need Is You,” Best Gospel Performance/Song for featuring on Erica Campbell’s song “Help” and Best Contemporary Christian Music Performance/Song for his song “Messengers.”
For Rapzilla’s Best of 2014 Christian Hip-Hop Awards, its staff nominated Lecrae for Best Artist, Anomaly for Best Album and “All I Need is You” for Best Single and Music Video.
